I do that too when describing the site - always saying "my friend runs this site and I hang out there..".

The hard part comes when I try to explain how I met my husband.

It usually goes something like this: "Well you see my friend runs this website. Well, he wasn't my friend when I first found it, but we've become friends over the years and he's a programmer like me. Geek friends we are! Anyway, he runs this website. (Then I'm stopped and ask what kind of website). Well it's an entertainment website.. not like adult entertainment, no. Just games and a cool forum and chatroom and stuff. There's a lot of people I've met from the site and that I keep in contact with. ANYWAY, well Ross and I met on the chatroom. It was 2001 when he joined and then 2 years later before we really started becoming interested in each other... "

I feel like I have to go into all that because if I don't and I just say "I met my husband in a chatroom online" I just sound like one of those yahoo chat freaks. ;-)
