Actually, I was saying that it's kind of dumb. I think the gestures of appreciation that take place on a typical Valentine's would be more meaningful if there weren't a whole society pressuring one to perform them. I also think those who get all depressed on Valentine's because they don't have a sweetie need to realize there's nothing wrong with that. Both parties need to not stress so much. It's just a day.

That said, I'm with Darien and Sam: Valentine's doesn't have to be about romantic love. Sure, that might be the main focus, but I'm sure you've seen those packs of cheesy Scooby Doo Valentine's cards that are certainly not intended for twenty of one's lovers. (In most cases.) Anyone can share a sentiment of "I appreciate you" with anyone they care about. My teammates, for example, usually do up little bags of candy and whatnots to give to one another. My favorite Valentine ever is linked to below. It was "given" to me by a good girlfriend of mine and declares my undying geekhood. That's what makes it a good Valentine: the person who gave it to me cares about me.
