That year there were 38 students and 7 teachers in the entire school, and the school included kindergarten, elementary, high school, AND COLLEGE. That's right--38 students spread across 17 grades. Some of the teachers taught some classes either in both grade school and high school, or some in both high school and college. Believe it or not, though, we had a band (about 24-26 pieces). Virtually every high school and college student and teacher was in the band, along with some former students. > > Yeah? Well, back in MY day, we had only four students and one teacher, and that covered everything from Mozart-in-the-womb all the way up to continuing education for retirees. Not the mention it was fifteen miles in the snow to get there, uphill both ways.
Man, you were lucky to even have a teacher. We had to learn from books. Well, a book. Actually, we just had one page from a book, and that was supposed to last us from kindergarden to when we got jobs. Not that us two only students complained. No, it's too easy for kids these days. Not to mention that, to get home, I had to leave straight after and walk until the night was half over - and then it would be time to turn around and start walking back.
