Whoo. That's a lot of stuff. Hm, there was one vital thing that you missed when you first began the game. Unfortunately, halfway through typing the hint, I realized that it would be a total spoiler to tell you in order. So. You're in the past, it's dark, you're up in a tree, it's gotta be dark, huh? How can you illuminate the tree?

Explore a bit in the present. Who could possibly have something that illuminates? What is/are he/she/they doing? How can you get them to stop? The standard response of death, of course. No, don't threaten them. Explore the school a bit more, look at all the bulletins - they are there for a reason, you know. Heck, go ahead and steal. So... Time passes, you got the item. (Hopefully. Tell me if I make no sense, heh.)

Yes, this item will help you be protected. (The tree item.) And yes, there is a lighter out there somewhere that will help you with an experiment.

P.S. That kid is your ticket to a quest. Remember, everything happens for a reason. But you should finish him after you've finished the other quests and basically knocked out all your teachers. (Man, this character has no morals, haha.)
