I can remember when silver dollars were still circulating. Half dollars were in widespread use as well, and I wonder why they are not still used. As for a the jingle, I find that dimes and quarters jingle best. A silver dollar tends to clunk or clank.

Back in the depression, when people didn't trust banks, the few people who had savings kept a fruit jar full of silver dollars buried in the yard.
