> But, you say beliefs change all the time. What does this mean? If that is the case, should we expect that your current belief will most likely change sooner or later? Should we expect all beliefs to change at some point? And does the fact that beliefs change mean the beliefs are wrong or that people are wishy washy or just ignorant and lazy?
> I agree, we change, we flip flop, we discover. Your love of Baroque grew because of new information that you hadn't considered or saw in a new way. So, again, I appreciate that you are asking questions. Keep doing so and if your beliefs do change, hopefully it is because you are getting more pieces that lead you to what is true.
As I said in another post, people's beliefs change over time as they receive new information. This goes for any belief, even those concerning morality or spirituality. Unless the information is faulty or misinterpreted (and that is, admittedly, a big "unless"), receiving new information always makes one's beliefs closer to the truth. Over the last two years, my interpretation of the information I have received suggests to me that there is no God. However, later in life I may discover that this information has been misinterpreted if a new, more powerful piece of information (a miracle, for example, or the second coming of Christ) comes along.
So I suppose what I meant by all that is: yes, any change in my beliefs is a result of getting more pieces which lead me to a different and hopefully more accurate view of the truth.
