You probably don't fit any of the profiles. Maybe they investigated you a little ahead of time.

My son-in-law from Peru became a citizen a few years ago, and they hardly look at his passport any more. He is a handsome guy with dark skin and black hair, but the immigration people are pretty good at telling the difference between a Middle Easterner and a South American.

I remember being disappointed one time when I crossed into Canada. The whole thing took less than a minute. Coming back the other way was even faster. But that was 35 years ago.
