I think these might be natural thoughts to have, but I also think that it is important not to compare your hardships, or your reactions to them, to those of others.

Yes, we may be caught up in our own selves during particularly rough times. But just because something impacts us so much doesn't mean we can't care for people in situations worse than ours.

A hard thing for me to put into practice in my life is to stop analyzing my emotions. Emotions are hard enough to deal with without also blaming myself that I'm having the wrong ones.
