Actually, the ingredient your looking for in DP is prune juice. That's the thing that makes it unique. This is also the reason for the original ad. campaign. They advertised for it to be taken at 10, 2, and 4 each day (10:00am, 2:00pm and 4:00pm) to stay regular. Like most early soft drinks it began as a medical aide/remedy and did not originally contain carbonation. By the same token Coke-Cola (or Coke) actually contained an amount of Cocaine in it's original receipe. Again, there was no carbonation in the original formula.
