Why is that exactly? I've not seen any previews yet or read up on what it's going to be about, but I am curious why having a sequel to a movie that came out when you were a kid is a problem.

There are a lot of movies I saw as a kid that I'd enjoy seeing a good sequel too. I think it'd all depend on the sequel's story and maybe that's what you're judging it on, but I didn't quite get that from your post.
