Well, although I can't think of any plot holes in season 1, I do recall noticing some inconsistencies. For example, in the episode where Jack and George go to the address in Saugus, when the helicopter does a fly-by at the end of the episode, the sun is still up. That's at the END of that episode... then at the VERY BEGINNING of the following episode (only a few minutes later, right?) the sun is down and it's dark. Then, a few minutes later in that same episode, they cut to Palmer's campaign HQ, and the SUN is shining through the windows. That's either a whoops, or the sun does weird things in California that I didn't know about.
> Okay, really, season 3 was just TERRIBLE. Oh, it started out pretty good, but whenever they mentioned something that seemed important they'd never come back to it.
Like what?
>Everyone was doing things that were totally out of character,
You do have a point there. I was very puzzled by Kim's complete change of character... it's only supposed to be two years later, and all of a sudden she's this calm, cool, collected business-like person? What happened to crazy constantly-kidnapped Kim? And then there's Palmer... they completely destroyed the character of his character, if you know what I mean. At least the way Tony acted during season three made some sense, considering the pressure he was under.
>and honestly, it wasn't exactly a memorable season. And most of all, it doesn't exactly make me (and I think I'm not the only one who has this opinion) want to watch the next season. It lacked something the first two seasons had: a good, solid plot.
I liked season three, even though I have to admit it's inferior to the previous two. I actually wondered if the writers didn't say "let's kill off almost all of our main characters so we can start fresh next year!" Even some of the characters that didn't die may have been effectively written out of the show (i.e. Palmer; Tony).
> I will admit, however, that it had it's moments. I watched the whole season because I kept hoping it would get better. But sadly, it never did. > > I suppose I'm comparing them to the first two seasons. I absolutely loved them. But when you start throwing in plot twists that don't make sense and don't add anything to the story (and most of all, you don't mention later on), it starts to feel as though you are simply trying to fill space.
Some examples? I'm trying to think of some plot twists that didn't make sense, or didn't add to the story. As far as the basic plot (there was one... we've gotta stop this virus!), I can't think of any major departures that detracted from it. The Palmer reelection subplot did fill space, but at least they resolved it.
> I'm tempted to watch the fourth season just to see if they learned anything from their mistakes. I genuinely hope so, because it was a damn good show.
In a sense, they are starting fresh for season four. Having killed or written off most of their main characters, they can start over... but who knows what they'll do?
