Erm. If you read my post, that's what I said. My point requires A to be an event and B to be something that someone must actively do in response to it, like wintermute's example of the eating the bug.

If you *do something* (eat the bug), I'll *do something in return* (give you a fiver).

The clear implication is that not eating the bug will result in you not getting any money. English language, and the perceptions it requires us to make, *doesn't* follow strict logic.
