A lot of Finnish men get mistaken for women in international communication because their first names end in an "a". I am one of them, my former boss is another.
My father, Kari, also has a name that is feminine in many other countries, even including our neighbour country Sweden. I haven't asked him how often he has got mistaken for a woman, though.
