Instead of having a 20 mph zone around the entire school building, these 15 mph zones exist from the actual sign to a crosswalk. Once you're past the crosswalk, even though you might be in front of the school, you may resume driving at normal speeds. Because of the way this is structured, students always seem to be crossing at these crosswalks. Back in other states, you'd see several students crossing the streets pretty much wherever they'd want to.

A lot of things would work better if state governments would look at how things are done in other states. Somebody else might have a better idea.
