The other day, I (in my tiny little Ranger) almost got my front end taken off when a Ford Expedition tried to merge into my lane while I was in it. Thank goodness for horns. (Although the Ranger has this not-very-threatening sounding "beepbeep" that sounds like it's saying, "Please don't do that." There's nothing like a spineless car horn.) > > > But do you ever stop and think how nice it is to get where you are going and still be in one piece? > > Every time I get out of the car. > > > Howard

Way back in the 50's, Renault used to have a two tone horn. One was a polite beep and the other was a "Get outta my way!" blast. I always liked the idea, but by the time I got a Renault R-10 they had done alway with it.
Years later, I had a car with a single, rather wimpy horn so I went to a junkyard and got another one. The two together were a loud, repulsive discord, but they did the trick. Howard
