I'd like to think that all the people who voted for Kokomo only know that one song by the Beach Boys. I don't necessarily think it fits with their style when you compare the lyrics to their early stuff. Definitely not Brian Wilson-esque.

With some of the Beach Boys songs possibly fitting in an all-time best pop songs lists, Kokomo doesn't even fit in with the group's best.

> Of course, my favorite Beach Boys song wasn't on the list at all, but I'm not sure if I'd have picked it for the best in any case. "God Only Knows" is a terrific song and one of my all-time favorite love songs, but I don't think it's as artistically excellent as "Sloop John B" or as classic as "Good Vibrations." I try to weed personal attachments out of my assessment of bests.
