?? for Old Timers only (Spoilers)

Hello: On level 2 a few feet from the stairs there is a very small room that always has the same picture in it. With my Webtv it looks like it is purple. There is a sign that doesn't let you go there. Is it something bad or is it something that the monsters are hiding from you, like a treasure? I finally got curious enough to go in the room where the sign warns you that it is not wise to go in there. I don't think I checked out all of it but I did get to the pool. This game has some strange monsters. When will I know if they are ready for level three? Thank you.
