You might be right about that. I remember that when I was playing a druid, it took me eons to find some Druid's Garb, but when I was playing a wizard, I found several of them.

I think the rarest item is probably that Rod of Catastrophe. In four games, I've only found it twice, and only in games where I've had six characters.
