This was not my first experience with computer games, as I became quite good at playing Space Invaders on our prehistoric Atari. But on the Gameboy, only one game really appealed to me. That was Tetrus. It wasn't a game that held the attention of the kids for very long, but it was good mental exercise for the older crowd. > > To make a long story a little less long, Christmas came around and the kids went together and bought me a Gameboy of my very own. It's not clear if they did this for me or to protect their own batteries, but that didn't matter. I still have it and I even carry it when I travel. As luck would have it, it uses 4 C-cells just like my digital camera, and one spare set can serve as backup for both divises. > Howard
If I remember correctly, my first Gameboy game was Tetris. But, to tell you the truth, I was never a Gameboy fan. Sure, I had the NES, SNES, Genesis and all that good stuff, and when I finally did get a Gameboy I played it about 20 times in a span of 6 years or so. Even when I played Tetris, it wasn't on my Gameboy, I never owned that game on my handheld system, I played it on my Nintendo. I do have a Gameboy Advance, the 32 bit system, I play it pretty often because it's actually in color, the screen is backlit so I won't have to worry about getting the screen in the light, and no changing the battery, it's rechargable!
You also have to realize that video games are a huge part of my life. It's been my #1 hobby since I was 3 years old and now I work in the business. I really don't ever see myself not playing video games. Whether it's one of my 3 8-bit NES's or it's my XBox, there will always be a system hooked up to my tv.
