That's what this website is for (see link). If you don't login after a specified time, it sends a previously-written email out to all your friends to say you've died.

I'm afraid to use it, though. I just know I'd forget to sign in, or my computer would die, or something else would keep me away from my computer, and everyone I know would get a terrible email.
