******This has some spoilers in it, that is unless you read the Book... yeah, it's already out.****
Got back home not too long ago from seeing The Passion of the Christ and it really is hard to put in words to describe it. It was very very difficult to watch, knowing that it all was real, and much worst than shown on the screen (hard to believe that's possible, I know). I guess the best way to put it is that I never cry at movies. I get a lump in my throat, but not cry. On this movie, however, I cried like a baby.
The first part that really got to me was when Jesus was tied to the "beating post" and they unleashed on Him with the cat of nine tails. Right before this scene I thought about this torture device and forgot exactly what it consisted of until it was brought out. It was a hard scene to watch. Then when you thought it was over, they unchained one of His hands, flipped Him over and started on His stomache and chest.
Then, of course, was the crucifixion scene. I really can't describe how it made me feel to see it. You'll have to decide for yourself how it makes someone feel, cause I really can't put it into words how it was for me.
What made it so painful wasn't necessarily Him getting beat, but it was the fact that at any time He could have thought to Himself, "I could end this now, I can just make this stop and go back to my Father. No, wait, if I do that, Scott Carroll in Tennessee wouldn't be able to experience the Kingdom of Heaven. I have to continue on." It really is tough to realize that He did all of it for me, someone who don't even deserve life, much less for the Son of God to die for him.
The movie was wonderful, and I think it's a definate must see for any Christian.
P.S. Do not comment on my bad English. I know it's bad and it will continue to be bad until I get back into college. Thanks.
