I tried to write a poem
But it didn't work
I wanted to make it niftospiffy
But now I feel like a jerk

I tried to write a funny poem
For every Morris fan
But I couldn't, and I've let you down
I won't be surprised if I'm banned

I tried to write a big, long poem
But I didn't do too well
I hit a poet's block (it hurt)
I'm a failure, can't you tell?

I tried to write a good, good poem
But it came out bad
I've left you deeply disappointed
And that makes me sad
