Actually, the balloon is a necessity. *points to the string in your inventory* You're gonna need that later.

As for single coins, have you...

...fished about in the moat?
...searched Inch Ward's shack THOROUGHLY? (On that note, where's your crate? Go get it!)
...done Blood Drops a favor?
...tested your hearing outside a certain bakery?

I think that's all the singles I can think of.
