My history book says, 300. But that's still a lot of blubber.

And did you know that a lot of people have served as president without ever being elected to the office? Well, vice presidents, of course. And Gerald Ford, who is high on the list of most admired presidents, was never even elected vice-president. And as I mentioned in another post, the wives of disabled presidents have been known to step in and sort of run the Oval Office.

And then sometimes a president flukes into office like George W. Bush. The process has its little imperfections, but somehow it works.
