Some of you may not read my post (18:42:55 09/04/03 (0) ) so I'm going to repeat part of it.
WMM and I went to Dollywood yesterday for lunch and a couple of shows. The weather was perfect but it rained a little just as we were leaving. We saw TV personality, Phil Donahue at both of the shows, but his wife wasn't with him. One of the shows was old fashioned southern gospel, which is not my favorite music, but I enjoyed it anyway. The other show was pop music from the 1960, also very good. Lunch was a Rubin sandwich and onion rings at the Backstage Restaurant. Their Rubins are to die for.

The park itself was spectacular. A rainy summer made the trees and flowers grow vastly better than anyone expected. When I think of Dollywood, I think of flowers, trees, running water and Craftsman's Valley. I don't ride the rides much any more. The carriage shop had more wagons, buckboards and carriages than I have ever seen. I think they sell them as fast as they are made. Each one is a work of art.

Driving through Pigeon Forge is always an antique car show. They must be getting ready for the Rod Run, because there were even more old cars than usual.

We had a great time.
Howard
