Why do I love this place? It's easy. The regulars are intelligent, articulate, and friendly, and as if that's not enough there's a positively topping sense of permanency here that one just doesn't find on other forums. I haven't checked the RinkForum for the better part of two years, and yet I find that I remember most if not all of the names on the front page. I never took an active role in the forum when I was here before, but this time around I'm hoping to shove my oar in on a fairly regular basis.

Of course I ought to introduce myself, so here goes: I'm a software developer by trade, currently stationed in Virginia but getting set for a move to North Carolina. When I'm not at work you can usually find me reading - Jack Vance, P.G. Wodehouse, Robert A Heinlein, and Rex Stout are among my many favourites. Failing that, I might be writing something of my own or getting in a few shots at the pistol range. I'm half American and half British, and enjoy English humour in all its myriad forms.
