Well, this inspired childhood memories for me. A and W was a part of my Winnipeg childhood travels every year. We used to go and eat there in my Dad's station wagon/landboat. The servers would bring your food to you on trays that clipped to the windows, and yes, the rootbeer was always in frosty mugs. Mama burgers, Papa burgers, onion rings . . . yum.

Tim's was bought out by Wendy's a few years ago. In Canada, new franchises still stand alone, probably because we eat more doughnuts per capita than any other nation. (Need the body fat to get through the cold winters, natch).
