"The Master's Hand" would be the one Dave previously mentioned as being a particular favorite of mine. I love how tight the storytelling is and how dark and vivid the imagery is.

"Stuck" would be my favorite after that, I think, for much the same reasons. I, too, appreciate stories that are about how people act and react under extreme circumstances -- when these types of stories are done well, there need not be any explanation or justification for what brought about the extreme circumstances in the first place -- and it can even be detrimental if the story gets sidetracked into doing so.
