Agreed. I wanted to take a helicopter or boat ride to see them better, but unfortunately that didn't happen.

Best viewed, I think, from the outdoor patio at Kimo's restaurant. Sunset AND Hula Pie. Yum.

Incredible.

To add some of my own favorites:
- Yosemite Valley, from the entry road that's NOT the famous Tunnel View. Yes, the Tunnel View is the most well-known image of the park, but I think the other entry road boasts the most beauty. The pictures I took don't do it any kind of justice whatsoever.
- Heck, the whole Yosemite Valley, no matter where it's from. It's no secret that I absolutely love this place.
- Scenic drives in Glacier/Waterton National Park. Beautiful misty views, and (to quote Elly) SOOO GREEN!
- Banff and environs, Alberta, Canada. Beautiful mountains, and the glacial lakes are gorgeous beyond belief. Lake Louise is of special note, I think.
- The Carlsbad Caverns. If something that's 'inside' can be called a view, that is. I love caves, and these are incredible.
- The Yucatan Peninsula (Mexico) from above. I still rank my fly-in to Cancun as being one of the most beautiful approaches I've ever seen.
- Overlooking the Alps from the summit of the Jungfrau mountain, Switzerland. I saw this over 10 years ago and I don't think I'll be forgetting it anytime soon.
- The English countryside, as seen from the roof of a narrowboat on the Grand Union Canal. It's the quaint England of hedgerows and flower-decked pubs, and it actually exists. (And it's NOT all for international tourists, either - most of the canal-goers were Brits themselves.)
- Holland from above. I suspect I'm being a sentimental sap, but the beauty of the green farmland, criss-crossing of canals and roads, and ocassional yellow train made me tear up.
