A friend and i had Japanese last week when i was down on the coast for a visit. The food was fine (my only rule for Oriental food is that it must be cooked--i don't expect to know what any of it is--well, that and i try to order whatever's not sweet-and-sour, and i like it if it's the kind of thing to use chopsticks with, not just soupy stuff by itself), even if it was something i'd never heard of before.

Our waitress was not only blonde, but she was from the Czech Republic, which made perfect sense in a Japanese restaurant just off the Mississippi Gulf Coast, right? She was really friendly, though, and the service was good, with plenty of refill on rice when we needed it. Good stuff.
