Lessee... two years ago... that would be about when I wrote that anti-X-Files story.
By which I don't mean a story that goes "Down with the X-Files!" or whatever, but one that takes all the features of The X-Files and inverts them.
The main character (a conspiracy-obsessed law enforcement officer) is so dull and unimaginitive that when he meets an alien, not only does he not believe it's an alien, the possibility of it being an alien doesn't even occur to him.

Now, that was a bad story. It could have been all right, but I decided to submit it to a Young Writers competition, and that meant I rushed it and I had to cut about half of it out, and it turned out dreadful.
