Judging from years of watching movies, there are certain conditions which must be observed when being interviewed by a private investigator. For example, you should "slink" or "hip" into his office rather than walk; you should sit on his desk, cross your legs provocatively, and wait for him to light your cigarette; and you should under no circumstances survive longer than a day or two after the interview. I suspect these might not be applicable to male interviewees, but as far as I can tell, men are never interviewed by private investigators, so I guess you've got hold of one who doesn't know his business very well.
