The thing about Baptist churches is that they are not unified, as, say, Catholics are. Name a belief, and you can find a Baptist church that believes it. The ultra-conservative Baptist churches that get a lot of press are actually only a vocal minority. I tend to go to Baptist churches just because they seem to have the best chance of believing as I do. I'd walk out of a church, however, that denounced all dancing as evil, or other such nonsense. However, I've never had to.
