I live in a big city, and just came back from Prince Edward Island where we celebrated my Mom's 75th birthday. When we arrived in the driveway, there was a sound I couldn't place. My brother (who lives there) told me it was frogs. There is a pond not too far away from the house and after dark each night there was a cacaphony of high pitched ribbits along with a sub-woofer sound of bullfrogs. It was beautiful.
My niece and I also went to an aunt's house just down the road, and on the way back my uncle suggested we just cross the field to go home instead of going down the long driveway, along the road, and up the driveway to my Mom's house. As city girls we had a flashlight, and as soon as we reached the end of the lawn, the ground was moving! It had been raining and the whole field was covered in worms!! My niece was very squeamish, but the ground was soft, and we didn't squish too many on the way home! Again I loved it. It is not often that in a big city like Toronto you have a chance to hear frogs croaking and walk in a field of worms! I always was a country girl at heart.
