Well, it isn't, necessary. I didn't like the first movie either, but I think they succeeded at what they were trying to do. My point was that I think they can pull off a sequel in the same spirit. As opposed to doing a hack sequel to a *good* movie to make money and denigrating the original by association.

I guess I'm trying to express a modicum of affection for the idea without actually calling either the original film or the prospects of the sequel "good."
