The funny thing about SUV's is that most of them are fakes. They don't really have four wheel drive. My daughter bought a Toyota Four Runner a few years ago. But when her brother found out that it didn't have 4WD, he insisted on calling it a Two Runner. Brothers are like that sometimes.

Well, ours definitely does have 4 wheel drive. Which was always nice considering we lived on top of a hill, and just moved to another house on top of a hill. And that winter potentially lasts from October to April here. Also, the cargo space is very nice when you're a mom buying food for 5 people, two of whom are teenage boys. ;-) Helps limit trips to the supermarket to just one instead of two. (And considering this is every other week, perhaps evening out in terms of gas usage? Our new house isn't exactly close to the supermarket my mom like to go to).

You are correct, though, about saying most people who buy SUVs don't need one. But then, most people also don't need Tommy Hilfiger clothing, backyard swimming pools, filet mignon, cruise ship vacations, titanium golf clubs, or tickets to the Super Bowl. Part of the reward of having money is being able to buy things you want but do not need. And some people choose to buy SUVs.

Yeah, except we all call it the incline. Come here and ask someone about the cable car, and you'll probably get a funny look. ;-) And there's two of them, the Monongohela incline and the Duquesne incline. And actually, I'm not sure if they run them in the winter or not. I would imagine they do. It would be great if they had those on all the large hills around here, of which there are plenty. That would rule.
