Woah. So THAT's what happened to Ayako.
Mi "When i was in high school, the postage rates started going up frequently, and the USPS distributed 1-, 2-, or 3-cent stamps to accomodate for the old stamps after the new rate was in effect. Inspired by some guy who paid his income taxes several years back with spare change (The IRS actually refused to receive it--still don't know what the outcome of that ordeal was, but it was certainly funny at the time), i started saving those 1-, 2-, and 3-cent stamps, and i mailed letters using nothing but those. I'm still not sure whether it was a conscious protest of the rising postal rates or just my being a jerk, but it certainly got entertaining reactions from the receivers of mail. And those stamps are sold in huge sheets, so it's not like you have to collect them one at a time. When i got to colege, though, i did start collecting them like that, because i noticed that people were always leaving the cheap stamps sticking out of the machine when they had to buy one or two full-rate stamps to send mail. So it became part of my daily routine: check mail before lunch, take cheap stamps sticking out of diespenser, and proceed to the cafeteria, where the food was always SOMEthing. This all seemed important to me when i started college and got my first e-mail address, which was pennystamp@juno.com or something like that. I don't really send mail like that now, except on special occasions, but it just became an on-line habit to use "pennystamp" because it was something i could remember. I have a bad habit of signing up for things like Paypal online and not needing for a month or two, by the which time i've forgotten name and password and everything. So the pennystamp thing helps. When i came to Rinkworks, it just seemed to work as a mildly creative name, since my life tends to come across as mundane in most circles (though i love it). So there you have it. Not only the story, but also probably the most excessive use of in-name quotes EVAR. But i'm sure there are some John Cage types who have done more than this, so i'm certainly not trying to declare myself 'Captain of in-name-quote Stupidity' or anything. See ya. Oh, and welcome to the forum." ke
