Not necessarily. When I was a kid, they came around to the schools and gave everybody a typhoid fever shot each year. By the time I got home my arm was swollen and useless. I'd tie it in a sling and sit around getting sicker and sicker. The next day, I was so sick I could hardly move, but the day after that, I could eat and walk around, so I had to go back to school. The swelling and pain would go away in about a week. It would itch for a few days after that. Then the next year they would come around and do it again. By the time I got home my arm . . . .etc.

They finally stopped giving them when a study in Europe proved that the vaccine they used was almost 100% ineffective in preventing typhoid fever. The trama of all of this has stayed with me for 55 years. I think I can safely say that most of the injections I have had in my lifetime did me no good at all and some were harmful. I refuse flu shots and tetnus shots on a regular basis. That may be a mistake with reguards to flu, but in my whole life, I have never known anybody who had tetnus. I think the tetnus epidemic is exaggerated.
