Neither. I fully intend to watch it someday, perhaps even soon.
The thing about must-see movies, is that there are hundreds of them. No self-respecting film enthusiast or amateur critic can possibly consider himself educated about film without seeing, for example:
The African Queen All About Eve Amadeus Annie Hall Apocalyse Now The Apartment Battleship Potemkin Ben-Hur The Bicycle Thief The Big Sleep Birth of a Nation Bonnie and Clyde Bridge on the River Kwai Bringing Up Baby The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari Casablanca Citizen Kane City Lights Dances With Wolves The Deer Hunter Double Indemnity Dr. Strangelove Dr. Zhivago Easy Rider 8 1/2 The Exorcist Fantasia Frankenstein From Here To Eternity Gandhi The General The Godfather The Godfather, Part II The Gold Rush Gone with the Wind Goodfellas Grand Hotel The Great Dictator The Great Escape A Hard Day's Night High Noon The Hustler Intolerance It Happened One Night It's a Wonderful Life Jaws King Kong The Lady Eve Laura Lawrence of Arabia The Longest Day The Maltese Falcon The Magnificent Ambersons The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance The Manchurian Candidate Meet Me In St. Louis Midnight Cowboy Modern Times Mr. Smith Goes To Washington Murder on the Orient Express My Fair Lady Nashville Network The Night of the Hunter Ninotchka North By Northwest Nosferatu On the Waterfront Patton The Philadelphia Story Pinocchio Platoon The Player Psycho Pulp Fiction The Quiet Man Raiders of the Lost Ark Rain Man Raging Bull Ran Rashomon Rear Window Red River Roman Holiday Saving Private Ryan Schindler's List The Searchers Seven Brides For Seven Brothers The Seven Samurai Shane Short Cuts Silence of the Lambs Singing In the Rain Sleuth Some Like It Hot Star Wars The Sting A Streetcar Named Desire Sunset Boulevard Taxi Driver The Ten Commandments The Thief of Bagdad The Third Man Touch of Evil Treasure of the Sierra Madre Twelve Angry Men 2001: A Space Odyssey Vertigo Witness For the Prosecution West Side StoryYou Can't Take It With You
There. There's 111, after minimal thinking. I'm sure I missed another hundred, equally as deserving of "must-see" status. The list is probably skewed toward movies I've seen, but I'm still missing 30 of those.
I'm catching up, though. The Godfather II and Patton are recent acquisitions, and The Deer Hunter is around the corner.
