This weekend I travelled to make my 36th, 37th, and 38th RinkMeets.. which I believe puts me back in the lead. w00t!
Friday: I travelled to Grove City, PA. (Sounds like a good name for a hillbilly cop show.) I came to meet TOM, Gahalia, and Cobra. I left work at 4:00 on Friday, and arrived in town at 9:00. Yahoo maps actually did pretty good with their directions (only a few mistakes) but as always they were off with their time estimate, as I had thought I'd here at 10.
Anyway, Gahalia was still cleaning up her room since she recently moved, and Cobra was helping out, so TOM came and got me and we chilled until they were done. Then we all went to her room and I showed them all my Rinkie pictures from various RinkMeets and RinkUnions. Gahalia showed me some pics of her RinkMeets and we all sat around and talked about bad professors, school and pretty much anything else there was to talk about.
Then TOM and Cobra left and Gahalia and I crashed. I attempted to sleep on the sleeping bag my mom had stuck in my car, but it was super slippery and I ended up just using as a blanket.
Saturday: Cobra called the room at 7:30 and we got up and ready and then left for breakfast where we met up again with TOM and Cobra. Had a good breakfast that only cost $3.10. Good thing too because I'm way low on cash. :)
After that we went to Cobra's Dorm and played foosball in the game room in the basement. The sad thing is, it was Cobra versus the three of us and he still kicked our butts. I know we won at least one game though. Yay.
Then while we sat around just chatting we noticed people had gathered around a t.v. We went over to see what was going on and found out about the explosion of Shuttle Columbia. Hard thing to swallow. *sigh*
After watching CNN replay it a bunch of times we decided we better figure out what we were going to do. TOM and I had already decided to go into Pittsburgh that day, but unfortunatly Gahalia and Cobra couldn't join us because they had too much studing to do.
So, TOM and I went. When we got to my car we got in and saw a little yellow paper on my windshield. Turns out Campus Security decided to give me a ticket for parking there. $60. NOT HAPPY.
Didn't let that stop us though. We took off for the city and ended up at the Carnegie Science Center. We figured this would be a good place to see some fun stuff. When we got there though the place was packed and we found out that it was Piratefest this weekend. So, it was pretty insane. There was a HUGE line for getting autographs of players, but we just busted past and went and played with all of the science exhibits. We even got to spin the WHEEL OF DISASTER!!! Mwhahahahaha!
When we finished we decided to drive around a bit looking for a place to take good piccies of the city. But in our adventures we ended up near his house so we just stopped in for a visit. I think his parents were thrown for a little loop when I walked in, but after a bit we were all just standing around talking. It was pretty cool. Gotta love Rinkie parents.
After that we left and went to find that picture spot. Finally found it and took pictures of the city and us in front of the skyline. Hopefully they will turn out well.
Then as we were making our way back I had TOM read the back of the ticket to me because I wanted to know the instructions and we found out that because I was a visitor to the college I didn't have to pay at all. w00t! All is well.
Also on the way home I saw a sign that said, "BUCKLE UP NEXT MILLION MILES". And even considering how much I drive, I will still be 85 years old before I can finally take off my seatbelt. ugh.
And that brings me to tonight. Sitting in TOM's room while we wait on Gahalia and Cobra to finish studying and then we'll meet up to hang out. Thought I'd go ahead and post while this stuff is still in my head.
And if you were bored enough to make it through this whole post, well.. 25 points to you.
