I've seen those icy bridge signs as far south as deep in Georgia. I can't remember if I have run across them in Florida or not, but will check the next time I am down that way.

I think I was in Georgia when I saw, "Right lane closed one mile" and just past that "Change lanes NOW." The result of course was a frantic switching back and forth with drivers in the left lane changing to the right and the ones in the right changing to the left. Kidding, of course, but if you did exactly what the signs told you to do. . . .

Another one that is best not taken literally is the one that says "Trucks use two right lanes."
Most truckers would be happy to use just one lane but the sign really does instruct them to use two.

I also wonder about some new signs that come right before the parking areas along the interstate. They say, "Parking area, trucks only." Or sometimes they limit it to trucks with six or more wheels. Now suppose you are tooling along in a four wheeled vehicle such as a car and the radiator hose blows. Do you stop on the sholder, or coast into the parking area away from traffic? Personally, I will ere on the side of safety.

So many highway signs refer to "trucks" without giving you a clue as to what they mean. The line between trucks and cars is getting blurrier and blurrier these days. Is a truck an 80,000 pound 18 wheeler made up of a combination tractor and trailer, or does it include straight trucks that don't bend in the middle? Does it include an SUV, a six-wheeled pickup, a pickup pulling a trailer, a car pulling a trailer, a motorcycle pulling a little bitty trailer? How about a minivan or a motorhome? A bus? Everytime I see "All trucks must stop," or "Trucks prohibted in left lane," I wonder. When they refer to six wheels, do they include the two wheels on my utility trailer behind my Toyota Tacoma? Can I count the wheels on the scooter in the bed of my pickup?

When you travel a lot, sometimes you get desperate for entertainment. I find such signs very entertaining.
