"The sounds?" Which sounds? Do you mean the sound effects, or the characters' voices, or something totally different?

I find "the sounds" to be one of the funniest aspects of the site, actually, and I find it pretty amazing that with the exception of the one female character in the cast, all the voices are done by the same person.

But that's just your opinion. If they went in and "cleaned up" their site as you suggest, according to your preferences regarding what is funny and what is not, they'd almost certainly receive complaints. You can't please everybody.

>On RinkWorks, you can almost always be assured that every few quotes, jokes, or other pages will inspire some kind of laugh (unless you aren't looking at a humor page).

I think you're comparing apples and oranges here. The nature of the content is quite different between the two sites. Homestar Runner is basically there for one purpose: to showcase the Chapman brother's cartoons, and not even ALL of their work, but just one specific cast of characters. RinkWorks is a family entertainment center, conceivably with something for everyone. It's like comparing The PowerPuff Girls with Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

>You are also free to move about at your own pace. On homestarrunner, you have to watch the entire animation, only to be disappointed at the end half the time.

Well, nobody is making you download the animations. You claim that you're not free to "move at your own pace" at HR.com, but if you really are disappointed as often as you say, why go back? Also, the fact that most of the features on RinkWorks are text-based doesn't change the possibility that you might invest some time in a feature only to find it disappointing at the end. Why, just the other day I was doing some Crazy Libs and they didn't make me laugh at all.
