You could also try using the connection on a different computer and make sure it works. That way you could tell if it's related to your computer, or the connection.

Well, as I said, it's only until the end of next week, so I'm not going to change my ISP. (The reason I'm using my mother's ISP is because I have shut down my own account in preparation for moving overseas.) And I've already established that it's the connection and not the computer. Thanks anyway, to everybody who replied. I decided to just use my work connection for the few posts I'll probably be making in that time. It's more just an annoyance than a major inconvenience.
