The rule is not to wear white shoes between Labor Day and Memorial Day (Sept-May) traditionally, though I imagine if you live somewhere that's hot enough for sundresses in April, it'd be okay to wear white shoes then.
I can't think of any problems wearing white and grey with anything else, but black, brown, and navy are trickier, and generally shouldn't be mixed, though I'm not sure exactly why that is.
Maybe it has something to do with why you're not supposed to wear gold & silver jewelry together.
