Well, last week saw me launch on a marathon of reading books and movie-watching in an attempt to get through a load of it before starting back at Uni. I was going to go hillwalking with one of my friends, but an ill-timed cold put paid to that idea.

It was slower going than I expected - I tripped up over my choice of "The Master and Margarita" by Mikhail Bulgakov. Not being a student of theology, nor that of 1930's Muscovite society, I had to refer frequently to the translator's notes and hunt out a couple of other books ("The Brothers Karamazov" and "Faust") to make some sense of the narrative.

I had to take no such pains with Bruce Chatwin's "On the Black Hill", though, and can reccomend it to anyone who fancies a really good book.

Oddest moment - watching "My Fair Lady", and then deciding to watch "Predator" afterwards.
