Deadly Rollercoasters... posted by famous on Wednesday, August 25, 1999, at 06:28:01:
> Have you guys heard about the people who have been killed at Amusment parks here in the U.S. lately? It's wild. I included a link below that tells of the most recent death. The wild thing is that I live near Paramount's King's Island, and I think I mentioned that I went to it sometime in the last two weeks. Well, the time I went, I rode the Drop Zone for the second time. This is one of the rides they are having to close because of the deaths. Can you believe that? I guess I'm just writing this to remind you (and myself) to remember that we are all lucky to be here and to remember that death may only be a step a way. Sorry if that sounds a little morbid for the morning, but I wanted to get that off my chest. > > fam "lucky to be here, and praying for those families" ous
The last time I went to King's Island, there were three deaths. One lady fell out of one of the rollar coasters after she neglected to put on her seat-belt. The second death was after a guy fell into the fish pond and was electrocuted, and the third came when a worker at the park tried to rescue the guy in the pond. I was there for my twelfth birthday, and all I remember is that they had to cancel the fireworks show because there were emergency helecopters flying in and out of the park. After that, I think we started going to Six Flags. (We lived in Indiana at the time, so it was about an equal distance either direction; St. Louis or Cincinnati)
