Do you read everything?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this, but I sometimes skip material posted on this forum. Maybe I shouldn't confess to that, but I think there may be other skippers. My interest in video games is quite low. I admit that I have my own Gameboy and that I am mildly addicted to Tetrus, but most of the video stuff goes way over my head, so I often skip those threads.
And movie discussions. I like vintage movies more than this modern stuff about rings and towers and such. After three or four James Bond movies, I got to where I knew what was going to happen next, so I lost interest. And those special-effects-and-nothing-else epics are no longer as interesting as they once were. War and violence doen't appeal to me, and I haven't seen a good musical in years. So sometimes I skip movie threads.
But most of the other stuff on here interests me, and even with my slow reading rate, I tend to read most threads. Sometimes, I will read something in one of the threads that I normally avoid, just because I know that poster usually has something interesting to say.
And I don't expect everybody to read the drivel that I write. I tend toward nonsense, and I ramble on and on about nothing sometimes, but some people will read just about anything. So I keep posting.
The posts that get my attention seem to be about travel and transportation, which are among my favorites things. I also like to hear about cultural differences, and the customs of other places. The perspective of youth interests me. Sometimes they see things exactly as I did when I was young and other times their perspective is completely different. Times change.
I'm sure the younger Rinkies snicker when I go on about a time with no TV, and a phone that you pick up and wait for the operater to say "Number please." I hope I give an accurate account of Hazard, Kentucky, circa 1941 and Fort Pierce, Florida circa 1950 and Nashville, Tennessee circa 1953, because those places are gone forever. But some people may skip those posts, and that's OK.
I think I may bore some Rinkies when I drone on about my favorite places like Hawaii, the Central Coast of California, Dollywood, and the Florida Keys. If they skip that stuff, that's OK too.
We all write what we like to write, so we should read what we like to read. Forums are my favorite part of the internet and, naturally, this is my favorite forum. Howard
