The only odd experience I have had with Japanese tourists was a few years ago, when some were going round our school. (Well, obviously not tourists, then...business visitors who were taking in the atmosphere, I suppose.) I was eating my lunch on a bench with a couple of friends, when one of these tourists/businessmen looked at us in a very surprised manner and asked if he could take our picture to show back home. Apparently, in Japanese schools it would be absolutely unheard of to eat your lunch outside. I still wonder where that photo is now, featuring me and two other people waving sandwiches in the air...
