Well, I can sort of understand the sentiment. I paid my $8 because I knew this was going to be a kick-butt movie, but there are two scenes in particular I really wanted to see: the battle of Helm's Deep and the sacking of Isengard. If they had managed to somehow not incorporate these two scenes into the movie (and, as I pointed out in an email to you earlier, I seriously thought at one point prior to these two scenes that the movie was ending and I WASN'T GOING TO GET THOSE SCENES) I would have been pretty pissed.
But as for the Shelob scene specifically, well, I forgot it was even IN Two Towers. I couldn't remember if it happened at the end of TT or the beginning of RotK anyway, so it didn't much matter to me that it was postponed. Also, this way, the next movie gets to have a really kick-butt opening action sequence.
On a completely unrelated topic, after seeing how awesome the Helm's Deep battle came out, I am so insanely psyched for the seige of Minis Tirith in the next one.
