Irish is about the only accent I *can't* do. I auditioned for a production of Brian Friel's "Dancing at Lughnasa" earlier this year, and I absolutely could not manage the accent. That's odd, as, when I did "Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean" last year (which uses a heavy east-Texas accent), it took me almost a half hour to pick it up. I think most of the trouble I have with Irish is that I can do Scottish - and they're too similar.
